Finch is an awesome browser extension that allows consumers to shop with confidence for sustainable products, even on Amazon! The company also uses the Aclymate platform to take action on climate, supporting offset projects such as the Living Carbon Loblolly Pine Biotech-Enhanced Reforestation in Georgia and the Natural Capital Exchange Forest Protection in Alabama.
Women's History Month is a celebration of women's contributions to history, culture and society, and we think Finch CEO and founder Lizzie Horvitz is making history in sustainability and is well-deserving of celebration!
When we asked Lizzie about why she takes action on climate, she had this to say:
"Because Finch is based around reducing your footprint from your purchases, we really wanted to walk the walk and not just tell people to make smarter decisions, but do practice what we preach."
Lizzie is the CEO and founder of Finch, which aims to decode products' environmental impacts and encourage consumers to make better purchasing decisions through a browser extension and a partnership with Microsoft Bing. Lizzie has been passionate about sustainability since the age of 16 when she lived off the grid. It was there that, depending only on wind energy and rainwater, she saw the solution of climate change before fully understanding the problem. Before starting Finch in March of 2020, Lizzie worked in supply chain and sustainability at Unilever and was Chief Operating Officer at Muuse. She has a BA from Middlebury College and an MBA and Master of Environmental Management from Yale University. She is originally from Shaker Heights, Ohio and lives in Denver with her husband and dog Louis.
