World Wildlife Day: Celebrating Partnerships for Conservation

World Wildlife Day falls on March 3rd each year and celebrates the significance of preserving wildlife and its impact on the state of the world.

The World Wildlife Fund's Efforts

For six decades, The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has dedicated itself to fostering the well-being of both humanity and the natural world. WWF operates across nearly 100 nations and is considered the leading conservation organization. Since 1970, there has been a 69% decrease in the number of birds, amphibians, mammals, fish, and reptiles. Due to this, the WWF has worked to promote awareness and has achieved some success in sustaining wildlife. For example, the organization recently collaborated with a regenerative ocean farm in Pembrokeshire- Câr y Môr, located in the UK. Their collaboration is aimed at supporting the sustainable seaweed industry’s growth and measuring the effectiveness of the ocean farm. In addition, this year they plan to explore the potential uses of seaweed, which may aid in addressing the climate and nature crises.
